HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE ON THE MANAGEMENT OF NYAMITANGA TECHNICAL INSTITUTE

The dream of skilling Ugandans through Nyamitanga Technical Institute in Mbarara Archdiocese, which was hatched by the White Missionaries in 1953, continues to grow through peaceful transition of the management of this Institution.

A.        BACKGROUND:

The Institute was started as a Church School in 1953 by Catholic White Fathers with two indigenous Courses i.e. Building Construction and Concrete Practice (BCP) and Carpentry and Joinery (CJ) since then it has developed into a Technical Institute with Five Courses:

To be a leading Technical Institute for the promotion of Self-reliant Training for Sustainable Development.

 

C.          MISSION:

To equip Trainees with Market Oriented Technical Knowledge and Skills to enable them earn a living and contribute to National Development.

 

D.        CORE VALUES:

  • To train highly skilled manpower in various trades of technical area.
  • To sharpen/strengthen or improve skills of individual already in industry.
  • To train future Entrepreneurs who will be able to explore the fruits of self employment.
  • To promote a positive attitude towards practical work.

To develop self awareness among the learners aiming at producing manpower with acceptable personality in the World of work.
